First off, I’d like to introduce myself! My name is Ali Bee and I am the new author here on theLENNOXX blog. Linda has asked me to join her and I am so honored and even more excited to be doing this with her.
I’m a photographer from Ohio who has a love for portrait photography, interior design, and fine art. I’m going to be posting regularly at theLENNOXX about art, interior design, and photography. I’m looking forward to this journey with you all! :)
If you’d like to connect with me outside of theLENNOXX and find daily updates on what’s going on with me and my photography then you can find me on all the links listed below:
I know, I know… that’s a lot of links! Haha. But you’re bound to find an update from me daily if you follow those links!
Okay, you get it. I’m the new girl here. Now let’s move on to the good stuff. :)
This post is about finding that place in your home that you can call your sanctuary, or better yet, your “happy place.” Everyone needs one! Whether it’s a quiet corner in your bedroom, that beautifully pillow filled couch in your den, or if you’re like me, your one of a kind home office area. Having that spot to think, work, rest, and just have some you time is so important.
You may have a “happy place” in mind, but it’s just not quite there yet. Maybe it needs a little sprucing up. A little color. Some personality. Now, before you freak out, let me tell you that it’s a lot easier than you think. About a year ago, I was living in a tiny 800 square foot apartment with a roommate. Being a full-time online student and not having a desk or a space to do my homework just wasn’t logical. So I decided to be proactive and I created a space myself! All it took was a little Craigslist searching and I found the perfect desk. It’s vintage, feminine, and was just the right size to fit in the corner of my bedroom right next to my window. And it was only $45!!! WOO! Bonus!
I fell so hard in love with this desk that all my attention for the next week was to put my personality into this desk so that I could get that bad boy into my room and begin using it! A little sanding, a good paint job, and some new knobs is all it needed. So you see? Finding your “happy place” in your home really isn’t all that hard. Just a little TLC and a lot of who you are is all you need.
Now I have a much bigger apartment with my fiancé, Austin, and cheers to having a second bedroom and turning it into a home office for the both of us. I now have more space and I cannot wait to bring out both of our personalities and maybe we’ll even spruce it up enough and share the same “happy place.” ;)
Well, I hope you all enjoyed this post and are inspired to find and/or create your own “happy place” inside your home! Or maybe you already have one. If so, you should definitely share in the comments. :)
xo,
Ali Bee
